T.I. had to recreate a similar foot print of design by downsizing from a 6500 sq ft to a 2440 sq ft; one-third the size. Being aware of functionality and familiarity we redesigned the furniture layout and furnishings to kept the prior aesthetic of the first house. Furnishings included hardwood floors, crown mouldings, paint, wallpaper, and window treatments. In two of the rooms, we designed full wall custom built-in bookcases, and built an addition off of the dining room; thus creating a sunroom. The sunroom was topped with an antique hanging light fixture, which hung 3 levels high in their original foyer. Lastly, to establish an inviting great room, we separated the kitchen and dining room by constructing a wall with two arched openings and installed a gas fireplace. The end result was a downsizing success.
